Dance On The Water

Fog floats above a lake as the glowing clouds of sunrise are reflected on its surface

Getting up before sunrise is not exactly something I typically do but while on vacation last week I wanted to catch at least one. I managed to make it to South Holston Lake just minutes before sunrise about mid-week. The fog rising above the surface of the lake that morning was incredible and helped make a unique foreground for one of the few sunrise images that I’ve shot.

Gear: Canon EOS 60D, Tamron AF 10-24mm, B+W 77mm Slim-Line Circular Polarizer

Software: Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3, Topaz Adjust 5

No matter how troubling it is, I always find the sunrise so pleasing, whether a good pic comes out of it or not. It’s like you’re the only one alive! Wonderful image Curt – very serene and calming! Well done!

Just fantastic Curt. I really like this one. The low contrast (?) and slightly vivid colors give it a dreamlike feel. Brilliant work my friend!
