Rivets
Before leaving Friday night, I decided to take advantage of the slow traffic and get a few shots of this bridge from the road. I managed to get a few frames before it started raining and I had to sprint back to my car. It was only when I began processing the images that I noticed the intricate patterns created by the interlacing beams and the rivets holding them together. The sky had flattened becoming gray and featureless leaving a huge negative space so I started playing around with different variations of black and white. I applied a few presets in Lightroom looking for the right feel and finally found one that fit. After making a few changes to the settings I was pretty happy with the result.
Camera settings: Canon 60D, Canon EF-S 18-135mm Lens
, 24mm, ISO100, f/5, 1/25 second
Processing: Adobe Lightroom 3

Perfect fit for bw processing.

Love your perspective Curt, resulting a wonderfully creative abstract. The creamy, muted tones add the perfect finish.
Childhood memories revisited in beautiful B&W. Thanks for the walk down memory lane Curt.
Absolutely mesmerizing my friend!
I love the simplicity of the bridge against the flat sky. Makes for a very compelling black and white image. Nice work!
A great POV here man, love the B&W too, so classy
