Rivets - Curt Fleenor Photography

Before leaving Friday night, I decided to take advantage of the slow traffic and get a few shots of this bridge from the road. I managed to get a few frames before it started raining and I had to sprint back to my car. It was only when I began processing the images that I noticed the intricate patterns created by the interlacing beams and the rivets holding them together. The sky had flattened becoming gray and featureless leaving a huge negative space so I started playing around with different variations of black and white. I applied a few presets in Lightroom looking for the right feel and finally found one that fit. After making a few changes to the settings I was pretty happy with the result.

Camera settings: Canon 60D, Canon EF-S 18-135mm Lens, 24mm, ISO100, f/5, 1/25 second

Processing: Adobe Lightroom 3
