St. Thomas Episcopal Church at Night
St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Abingdon, Virginia.
The image is a composite of 3 bracketed exposures taken about an hour after sunset. The temperature was a brisk 19F so needless to say I didn’t waste much time setting up and getting this captured! There was a street light immediately behind the camera position throwing the white balance off considerably and causing the building to glow a bright orange in the original RAW files. White balance and lens correction were performed in Ligthroom 3 and synced to all of the images. The images were then exported to GIMP where exposure blending was performed using a script and returned to Lightroom where final cropping, spot removal, tone curves and retouching were perfomed.
Shot info: Canon Rebel XS, ISO400, 21mm, f/8, 1.5, 3.0 & 6.0 seconds.
