Around the Bend
One of the many bends in the Virginia Creeper Trail between the Watauga crossing and Alvarado Station.
This particular bend is slightly west of the Middle Fork of the Holston River. At the bottom left of the photo is a makeshift bench constructed from 3 large flat rocks - probably an exhausted hiker! This turned out to be a wonderful day for a hike as the temperature stayed around 60F most of the morning.
