As a Christmas/Birthday gift to myself, I finally broke down and purchased a B+W ND110 “10-Stop” filter. This weekend was the first opportunity that I’ve had to get out and practice with it a little. The weather was perfect – overcast and gray with a slight breeze. I wasn’t able to spend much time working with it but it was just enough time to fall completely in love with this little glass disc.
My workshop was the familiar shore of South Holston Lake where I spent about an hour getting used to working with it. Today’s is one of 3 images I brought away from my practice session that I felt were worthy of sharing. While I’m fairly happy with these first images I have a long way to go before I begin to see the results I want.
Gear: Canon EOS 60D, Canon EF-S 18-135mm Lens, B&W ND110 Filter
Settings: ISO100, 18mm, f/16, 58 seconds
Processing: Adobe Lightroom 3, Topaz Black and White Effects
