Downstream - Curt Fleenor Photography

This last weekend brought with it the first snow of any real significance that we’ve seen in our area this winter. In town the snow quickly disappeared but I had hoped to find a little more at a higher elevation. I did find a little more but not quite as much as I had hoped.

Winter is far from over and I’m sure that there will be a few more opportunities to capture some snow covered river banks.

Gear: Canon EOS 60D, Canon EF-S 18-135mm Lens

Settings: ISO100, 24mm, f/11, .6 seconds

Processing: Adobe Lightroom 3, Adobe Photoshop CS5

  1. Great shot Curt. Looks so beautiful.

  2. Nice winter scene Curt. We are having a very mild winter here in the UK at the moment. I don’t miss having snow though!

  3. I think the amount of snow on the rocks in the foreground is probable about right as it allows the details of the rocks themselves to show through as a comparison to the snow. The background is another story – a lot more of the white stuff was really needed here. We’re due a dusting in the DC area tonight but it is supposed to turn to ice before sun-up and then rain – another weekend to process rather than capture.

I agree, it’s been a somewhat mild Winter thus far, but that will change more than likely. ;-)
