Here Today Gone Tomorrow
This is one of the trail-side waterfalls that formed along the Virginia Creeper Trail after a week of melting snow and rain. Allow for a few days of dry conditions and falls like this will slow to little more than a trickle of water dripping from the rocks. The infusion of moisture and warmer than normal temperatures have really brought out the brilliant greens in the mosses that cover the rocks in these spots. It is an odd sight to see such brilliant colors in the middle of winter but that’s just one of the reasons that I never get tired of exploring this small section of the world.

Such a nice find. It’s dead and brown here or covered in snow for the season. Nice to see moss like that this time of year.

Great shot, Curt. The moss looks like mid-summer. Weather has been a little up and down in terms of temps. Nice capture.
