Ice Flow
Late last week really cold temperatures moved into our area bringing light snowfall with it. While the snow didn’t stick around long in town, I thought that there would be some lingering along the mountain paths and streams in higher elevations. So I packed up my gear Saturday morning and went out in search of winter scenery. There was not as much snow along the river as I had hoped but the cold air was freezing the mist on low hanging tree limbs.
For me, shots like this are interesting but are hard to frame. The rushing river not only adds much needed interest but also a touch of visual contrast featuring the static and fluid states of water.

What a great find – many would have missed the potential in this. Really creative

This is some fantastic work Curt. I dig the water movement and think you framed the scene perfectly.
Such a cool scene Curt, and very well captured! Love the use of the long exposure to smooth out the water. Very well done!

Interesting capture with the icicles hanging down off of the roots into the rushing water.

Nice one Curt. It definitely has sort of an abstract feel.
