Let It Roll
Round bails of hay are a common sight in the area this time of year as farmers make the first cutting of their fields. This is actually the view from my back door looking north across a neighboring pasture. The people that work this field began bailing it just after sunrise and finished just before sunset. They continued to work late into the night and when I woke up the next morning all of the bails were gone.
These folks work hundreds of acres around this area of the county and I’ve watched them do this twice a year for 10 years. They put in longer days in than most of us ever think of pulling and they’re out in weather no matter how hot or cold. I’m not sure that I could get up and do this everyday!

What a great title for this fun shot! Im just waiting for the bail to start rolling down the hill. Great shot and PP.
Brings back memories, but I have to ask what filter you used since the bails look aged. Beautiful photo.
I love the depth to this shot man. Incredible work.

Very cool image Curt – they almost look like spools of thread, beautifully captured landscape!

Nice work on this one. My eyes want to follow all the bales and as a result I’m walked through the entire image. Thanks for sharing.

Nice one Curt! Reminds me of the fields back home in Western PA at this time of year, and being out there on my friend’s farm helping out after school. Thanks for the memories!
