Tower of Decay
This is one of the takeaway images from a trail walk I took a few weekends ago. Spending a few minutes exploring off the main trail along the river banks I found several tree stumps that had obviously been decaying for quite some time and had began to take on some interesting characteristics. The recent rainfall not only made the mosses a vibrant green but saturated the porous and decaying wood turning it very dark. I wanted to shoot from a low angle to give the illusion of a towering structure when in fact this one was less than 2 feet tall. The longer exposure was intentional and an attempt to blur any moving objects in addition to the bokeh provided by the f/5 aperture.

I agree with the others on the pov, nice choice for this image.

The low POV works perfectly here. There is absolutely nothing to provide a sense of scale so this tree stump couple be many feet tall or the actual two feet that you quote. The fallen leaves seem to be pointing into the image as well providing a subtle lead-in line.
