KingAir
Digging through my archives I came across several shots from this year’s annual Air & Auto Show that I had completely forgotten about. The skies that day were flat and grey which was great for reducing glare and diffusing the noon-day light but offered little in the way of background. I thought the best way to deal with this was to shoot tighter, close-in shots. I don’t shoot like this near enough and it was both challenging and fun.

Great Hi Key shot, Curt

Good job with this. This really suits a sepia tone.

Classic B&W material. Just enough details in the highlight areas too. It’s a shame that we can’t quite see the top of the windshield as I think that would have held in the image at the top edge – but I’m sure that if it was on the captured image you would have included it. Love the slight sepia tint.

Close-ups can be the savior on overcast days and you have made the most of that here. The lines of the aircraft and the monochrome processing work really well together.

I like everything about this. The lines of the aircraft, the B&W, the composition. Well done.
Nice POV shot Curt! Way to adapt for the flat lighting, you nailed it!

Nice. Creative way to show this during that flat light.

Cool shot Curt. The processing really works well for this image.

Really nicely done Curt. I think your decision to process it the way you did overcame the bad lighting.
