Gold Rush

The golden tone of the river bed lends its color to the water that rushes over it.

The Stoney Creek area of Scott County, Virginia is home to three beautiful falls aptly called “Little”, “Middle” and “Big” Stoney Creek Falls – this is the middle falls. I posted a completely different shot of these falls last autumn that you can check out here. This time around the river was bursting and the water rushing at a phenomenal rate. The light was beginning to get brighter causing the brown of the river bed to reflect as a golden glow through the water pouring over it.

Canon EOS 60D shoots well, I see… By looking at the picture I can see the “special software effects” added to it – make it nice, my compliments!

This is an awesome shot! Love the low point of view on it – though looks like you might have gotten a bit wet?

Like the low POV as it really helps to emphasize the flow of the water.

Great composition and balance, Curt. Just enough movement without being too foamy. Nice job!
