Stars On State

After nearly a week without a post I’m back with a shot from downtown Bristol, Tennessee/Virginia. This last week has been pretty hectic and I’ve not had much time to get out and shoot so I may only have a few posts this week as well.

Bristol is one of those cities that exists in two states. State Street in the ‘old’ downtown portion of Bristol is literally the state line between Tennessee and Virginia. On the Tennessee side of the street sits the Paramount Theater. The Paramount has been operational for decades and often plays host to some of the biggest names in stage and radio. The entrance has been revitalized over the last several years to be more fitting of its stature in the arts community and reflect its reputation.

Gear: Canon EOS 60D, Rokinon 8mm Fisheye

Software: Adobe Lightroom 3, Adobe Photoshop CS6, Photomatix Pro 4, Topaz Adjust 5, Topaz Star Effects

Oh, how cool. I love these border towns, something about them that makes them special. May have to visit this one some day.

You know I’m a big fan of fisheye shots and this works really well here, Curt. Nice one!

The fish-eye really works well here, Curt. Everything nicely draws the eye to the bank of doors leaving the viewer to wonder what is going on inside.
