While hiking the eastern leg of the Virginia Creeper Trail, I passed several barns, buildings and sheds that looked like they had not seen use in several years. Looks can be deceiving in this area as farmers are known for using these structures until they literally collapse. The orange glow of sunset illuminates an abandoned grain silo and casts a cold shadow on an adjacent barn door.
