What Dreams May Come

What Dreams May Come

Sometimes you just need to get away. On a Friday evening after a grueling week I came home, grabbed my gear and took off for the top of Whitetop Mountain. I didn’t care if I even took a shot I just had to find some peace and quiet.

The road to the top is flanked by mountain on one side and thick forest on the other. When I finally broke into the clearing near the top there was a thick blanket of fog covering everything. I kept going, sitting alone in the quiet of the fog covered mountaintop was just fine with me. It was one of those days.

After making it to the top I got out of my car and walked around for several minutes. I found a few shots that I wanted and went to work. The complete absence of noise was music. The only sounds were the wind rustling in the trees and drops of condensed water hitting the forest floor. It was total contentment.

Sometimes you just need to get away if only for an hour or two. Forget about all the worries of the day and clear your head.
