Abingdon High School 2013 Graduation Invitation

It seems like such a short time ago that I dropped my son off for his first day of school. I still remember walking him to class and watching from the corner as he anxiously joined the other kids. Tonight he is part of the 2013 Abingdon High School graduating class. I will once again be watching from the distance as he takes his final steps in school and his first steps into a bigger world.

I’m sure at some point every parent realizes just how quickly the time has passed. I know over the last few weeks it has hit me like a ton of bricks. The little boy who for so long has relied on me for everything seems to need me less and less each day. He drives himself everywhere now, he buys his own meals and even washes his own clothes. I’m not sure I am ready for him to take those last steps but we all have to let them go at some point don’t we!

Such a proud, but yet somber event for a parent. You’ve done your job but letting go is not something that you want to do and it’s also not easy. Try to enjoy it Curt!
